The Homework Club supports high school students and some tertiary students between 12 and 24 years old. We rely on volunteer tutors to support students in understanding, researching and completing their homework (but not doing work for students).
At all times, students should be encouraged to undertake and complete homework tasks independently. Tutors can assist students in learning how to research a homework assignment, how to understand the questions they are being asked, and how to best present their work.
You can tutor in any subject/s you feel comfortable with.
Tutors volunteer 2 hours for one or more afternoons a week at QPASTT either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 3:30 and 5:30.
We can also put you in touch with other Homework Clubs in Wooloowin, Logan or Moorooka, or with the home tutoring organisation Volunteering with Refugees in the Community (VoRTCS)
Further volunteer opportunities with families from refugee backgrounds in Brisbane can be found at Multicultural Development Association Volunteer Program
