Peace Initiative

This project to make a music film clip came together with the energy, creativity and enthusiasm of young people from Sudanese, Indigenous and Samoan backgrounds, and with the help of a dedicated group of talented arts workers.

The project was based on the ideas of:

  • peace
  • culture
  • conflict and honour.

Through the weeks of preparation and discussion before the film clip began, these four words took on personal meanings to all the young people and gave them the inspiration to generate their song.

To create the film clip, the young people were asked to draw on their imaginations:

  • What would the song be about?
  • How would it sound?
  • What should the film clip look like?

After many weeks of hard work the clip was produced from start to finish, and the excellent result was showcased at the project’s launch where all the workers and young people were able to celebrate their accomplishments and have a great time.
