Early Health Assessment & Intervention (EHAI)

QPASTT is funded by the Department of Immigration and Multicultural and Indigenous Affairs (DIMIA) to provide an Early Intervention Project (EHAI) to newly arrived refugee and humanitarian entrants to Queensland. The EHAI team operates within the guidelines and policies framework of the Forum of Australian Services for Survivors of Torture and Trauma (FASSTT). This provides for assessment and case management of all entrants.

Our team has a responsibility to provide for all entrants to Queensland. Successful resettlement in general and recovery in particular are dependant upon:

  • the provision of adequate and timely support and referral
  • providing for assessment and case management of all entrants
  • the identification of those most in need as soon as possible after arrival
  • the development of productive partnerships with key services
